For it's size and age, it really was a great starter camper. The worst feature was the "lift-up" roof. While it saved on interior space without having a lifting mecanism, the elbow-like arms were more in the way than out. Once, while setting up, the safety guard on one of the arms caught the roof seal and tore it completely off. Lining the roof up on the box when storing was also a pain, since the front part came down first, then the rear. It always took a little jimmying and jostling to get everything just right.

The Shasta Features:
- Case Awning
- Icebox
- 2 burner inside stove
- Pump sink (But no tank!)
- 2 interior outlets 110v outlets
- One 12v overhead light that didn't work
- and that's about it....
In the one year I owned the camper, I:
- Repaired all of the tears in the canvas and screens
- Replaced the cracked roof vent
- Repainted the entire frame from off white to black
- Replaced both tires
- Added an external outlet
- Added a 5 gallon water tank
- Replaced the street water connection
- Replaced all lens covers
- Replaced all 4 roof handles
- Replaced the propane tank and all lines
- Rebuilt the hitch assembly
- Replaced the wiring harness
- Replaced the rotted plywood in the roof
- Rebuilt the pump faucet (about 4 times!)
